God Has a Plan B-Waiting

Waiting . . .
Feeling alone . . .
Show me your ways O Lord, teach me your paths; Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are my savior and my God and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 25:5

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you .  Show me the way I should go for to you I lift my soul.

Will My Saturday Be Sweet?

Are you a follower and you wonder why I always mention
something about making my Saturday Sweet in my posts and in my titles?
 I used to link with a friend for a linky called . . .
Making Your Saturday Sweet but she has stopped the linky party.  I like the concept so I am still continuing making my Saturdays Sweet inspired . . .
Yesterday I kind of felt like a kid in a candy store.  I took a detour coming home and stopped at an apartment that we are hoping to move to in December.
Look at this view.  Sorry this is a winter shot.  This is the view I see where I live now.  The apartment we want is that pretty bright yellow one.  It's not yellow now.  It's a nice tan color.

Here's close up of these units there are only 12 that look over the lake and hiking trails.  It is so pretty from the outside!

It does look barren these are very early shots from when they were built.  It is lush and green now.   Look at these amazing windows over looking the lake!

And a shot of the inside . . .
This is not the actual unit I looked at.  The one we want the sink is
on the side of the kitchen with all the other appliances.  But you can see the beautiful granite counters, black appliances and look at the pendant lighting!  Which btw way maintenance changes the bulbs.
They are hanging form a 20 foot ceiling!  Or should I say dangling!
Isn't the glimpse of those amazing windows beautiful!

Here's the floor plan . . .
This photo is tiny.  I don't know how to enlarge.  It's a two bedroom. The master is upstairs.  The reason the ceilings are so high is it is actually a loft bedroom.  It has a half wall that overlooks the kitchen.  (A little scary.  But I just won't look! LOL)  It's not a huge bedroom but I don't like a lot of furniture.  Our bed is so pretty.  Well pretty probably isn't the word but it deserves to be the focal point of the room.   The closet is huge so there is no need for dresses or nightstands to clutter the room.

Here' another shot looking into the living area from the kitchen . . .
This is the actual unit.  I love the island with no sink!  See why
maintenance changes the lights.  There are actually 4.  You can barely see one at the top of the photo.

Off the main living area is a second bedroom.(the open doors to the right in photo.)  But it has double glass doors.  We plan to use it as the t.v. / library room/bedroom  for our grandson when he visits.  We are planning on some kind of bench type bed that will function as seating also.  Something like this . . .

And guess what that huge closet in the second bedroom will be?
I'll give you a hint.  It will look something like this!
A beautiful empty pallet where a girl can do this . . .

It won't be empty long.  Some amazing shelves like those will be filled with colorful fabric!

Yes it would be sweet to live there!  All my Saturdays would be
sweet!

What makes my Saturday sweet today?
We are planning for Cowboy to go see it!

And this time I am taking the camera!

Five Minute Friday--Lost and a Pray for a Friend

Every Friday I join Lisa Jo and her flash mob and write for 5 minutes.

Her prompt today is Lost.
Today I have a friend and maybe you do too that is in need of prayer. . .

I fear that she will be lost in all the pain and frustration she is feeling.  The other day their only car was crushed by a fallen tree during a storm.  Her husband narrowly escaped.  But has a broken ankle.  They are facing some extreme hard times.  A less strong person would be Lost.  But our Denise knows where her strength comes.  She has struggled for the last few years with her health.
At times I am sure she has felt like she was Lost.  Yet she has commented everyday on my blog.  There were days I felt lost.
Because I felt I was writing and no one cared.  It was Denise who always visited.  I know what it feels like to be in the position that Denise and her dear Eddie are in.  They are scared.  Who knows what they face in the days ahead.  Eddie will be unable to work.
If you don't work you don't get paid.  You don't get paid you can't pay rent.  My Cowboy and I have been there.  We felt lost, afraid and alone.  In 2010 we lived for 2 months in a pay the week motel.
All our belongings were in storage.  I could have felt lost. Alone.
But I kept it together and made it into an adventure.  It was like being young and in love again.  It's the smallest place we ever had.
But I know it wasn't my strength that got me through. It was God.
God gave me strength.  God gave Cowboy strength.  I pray right now God gives Denise and Eddie strength.  I pray he lets them know they are not Lost.  He holds them in the palm of his hand.

Will you please pray for our sweet Denise?  Would you please visit and let her know she is not alone? She blogs at

F is for Fences and . . .

It's Thursday that means time to link with Jenny for Alphabet Thursday and letter "F".
The perfect "F" to share with you  I think is a few good fences.
Most of these fences I have shown before on Blue Monday.  They are some of my favorite
pics. . .

My someday Dream house garden . . .

The neighbor peeking in watching . .
 The acrobat cat . . .

And  a little whimsy
But before I go a peek through a fence . . .

Tuesday Kitchen Tips--A Little About Eggs (A New Series)

This is the post you've been waiting for; and didn't know it!

Yep I have the complete scoop on eggs.  From an Eggspert.

Something I have never mentioned here because it wasn't revelant.
The Cowboys corporate job was selling eggs.  Yep.  He sold
trailer truckloads of eggs.  Which = 25,500 eggs!  That's a lot of eggs.

When we owned our own business in one week he could sell about 5 loads a week.  Before that he worked for a supplier his minimum was 10 loads a day.Yep. That's a lot of eggs.  And, that is too much math for me!

Before selling eggs he sold chickens.  So I think that makes him pretty much an Eggspert.  Sorry.  I just had to say that again.

So why this post? Now.  Because yesterday I saw this on Pinterest.
And I was amazed and wanted to check it out!

The thing is it didn't work.  At least not for me/us. The Cowboy(Eggspert) laughed at me.

Here's the reason why it didn't work for me.  And the reason why this is the best tip ever.

My egg was too fresh.  And the thing is I knew better.  I thought I had grabbed the oldest eggs from the fridge but I didn't.

The tip is the older the egg the better they peel. Yes it is true.
So if your planning on coloring eggs for Easter buy them a few weeks ahead of time!
And this is something I learned this Easter from you know who. . .

I had bought some pre-colored eggs at the story on Monday after Easter.

They were half price.  I figured we could eat them in a week or two.  This is what blew me away.  Those pre-colored eggs would last 6 months or longer!  Why?  They have a coating on the shell.
Now I wasn't planning on keeping them for 6 months.  In fact they are already gone.  But I thought that was just amazing.

I am interested to see if the spoon idea works.  I really think it will if you have an older egg.

Another amazing thing I found out when I went back to find it on Pinterest is how many pins on cooking and peeling eggs are out there!  It was amazing.

So our tip week is use your oldest eggs to boil.
This post is the first installment from The Eggspert.  Next week
how to make perfect and super easy Deviled Eggs.

Blue Antiqueing--Blue Monday

Well Saturday I took a break and went shopping.  I was on a quest
for lighting for my sewing space. Click here to see the  post.
Alas no lighting but I did find some Blues for Sally...
Love the Blue mantle...see the little blue table on the edge? The black chair isn't to shabby either.  This shot was takin' at a local Antique mall. . .
Look at the great chairs.  Who'd a thunk to paint Blue.  Not me but they are great!  This is my favorite local shop.
And next a new shop . . .
New shop we stumbled on.  These looked so delicate.  I love them.  But, not the price tag!
A great vignette for Sally! All in all a great Blue trip.
